![]() The Apollo Max reduced felt recoil by about 50%, but your shoulder might tell you otherwise. Shooting Hornady ELD-M 168gr SMK rounds, I’ve dialed that little rifle in to groups of 3 you can cover with a quarter at 500 yards. The optic is a Primary Arms 4x14x44 FFP with the ACSS HUD reticle designed for the 168gr. I’m one year in, at a round count of 850, with a PSA AR-10 fitted with a Krieger match barrel. The Apollo Max is 100% what they say it is and does. I like to give the product a workout, to see if it’s all it has been claimed to be. I don’t like to review anything new and just out of the box. Atmospheric pressure, temperature and elevation also effect powder burn and expanding gas effects in the RGP. It is important to understand that RGP is not accurately definable as different ammunition using the exact same firearm/Muzzle Device combination will vary. Many high performance Muzzle Devices can turn gas at an extreme angle rearward and the shooter must be comfortable that body parts are positioned on the firearm so not to be negatively impacted. The more gas volume that is redirected the higher the performance of the Muzzle Device. ![]() RGP direction and volume are determined by the Muzzle Device ports. It is vital that the shooter understand the Redirected Gas Path (RGP) for the Muzzle Device they choose. Redirected gas away from the bullet path helps accuracy and speed for the shooter but also creates more sound, concussion, and unburnt gas particles to contend with. It is important for the shooter to understand that redirecting gas has consequences. Reduced Recoil and Muzzle Rise are both accomplished by redirecting expanding gases. A well-designed Muzzle Device will incorporate features to address Muzzle Rise as well. Reducing Recoil is often the primary goal and while low recoil reduces muzzle rise it does not totally eliminate it. Muzzle Devices offer numerous benefits to the shooter including allowing for more accuracy and quicker follow up shots. Rated for the standard cartridges in the following calibers: 308 Win, 7.62×51 NATO, 7.62×39, 300 AAC Black Out, 300 Savage, 303 Savage, 30-30 Win.Rated for the standard cartridges in the following calibers: 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 Grendal, 6mm Remington, 6mm Rem, 6mm BR, 25-06 Rem, 257 Roberts, 243 WSSM.Rated for the standard cartridges in the following calibers: 223 Rem, 5.56 x 45 NATO, 224 Valkyrie, 224 Weatherby Mag, 22-250 Rem, 222 Rem Mag, 222 Rem, 22 Nosler, 220 Swift, 22 PPC, 22 BR, 22 Hornet, 204 Ruger, 218 Bee.To maintain its durability, modifying it to accommodate larger diameter bullets is not recommended.Barrel mounted sight option eliminates sight deflection associated with handguard mounting. Suitable for bullet diameters up to 8.0 mm, most effective starting from 6.0 mm. The brake is designed to look equally good on all diameter barrels. As a bonus, the aggressive looks of the brake gives your rifle that extra touch.įirm clamp attachment eliminates the need for crush washer and allows you to easily install and to adjust the angle of the brake. The bottom of the brake is designed to minimize dust printing when shooting prone. This provides far better compensation compared to directing gases directly sideways. Ports on the sides direct exhaust gases backwards, yet past the shooter. ![]() Large ports on the sides compensate for recoil while cuts on the top compensate for muzzle rise. Professional workmanship guarantees perfect concentricity for maximum accuracy. Bolts are made of extremely strong high grade titanium to reduce brake's overall weight. Made of extremely strong stainless steel and treated with QPQ nitriding for superior durability, heat and corrosion resistance, they outlive most of the barrels and competitors' products. Advanced geometry also minimizes flash signature. Our advanced geometry muzzle brakes are designed to be highly effective in eliminating felt recoil and muzzle rise for quicker, more precise follow-up shots.
